My crack is red and irritated. I use baby powder every day.

Resolved Question:

My butt crack is red and irritated. I use baby powder every day. I've never had this problem before. I've tried a couple of different things like anti-itch cream, because when I sit down to use the bathroom and air gets to it, it itches. I've also tried gold bond medicated powder and neosporen

Thank you for the question. Do you have any other area on the body that are scaly or perhaps itch, like on your elbows or knees? Do you sweat a lot?

Do you cover it up do you let it air out at night?

I sleep with underwear on.

Ok. Thank you. Here are my suggestions. when you shower try not to wash that area with soap. SOap will dry it out. You can use cetaphil on that area as a wash in the shower. Next, if you take bath's, stop. Shower instead. Please keep using the powder after the shower and a few times a day, especially if you wipe with wet wipes. At night you can you Hydrocortisone 1% CREAM, not ointment, on that area. See if this helps, about a week or so. If not, go to your physician or dermatologist, you may need a stronger medication.
Again, thanks for the question.
