Hello Customer!
This is usually due to venous stasis. This means as you get older the valves in the leg veins get more incompetent and you tend to hold more fluid in the legs stretching and damaging the skin to cause the redness that you see. This can also be due to lymphedema which is due to a similar process but with lymphatic fluid. A daily aspirin to keep the blood thin. Plenty of water and less salt. Compression stocking purchased at the pharmacy and gentle calf flexing throughout the day, especially when on your feet. Elevate when you can are some things you can do. If you have not seen your dr this should be done to rule out infection with the oozing. You may need an antibiotic to clear the infection first before any of the other methods are going to work. Finally, lymphedema and wound care centers can sometimes help with various mobilization techniques with a prescription from a dr.
Good Luck
Hope this helps!
