Dilated pupil is know as Mydriasis.

It is an excessive dilation of the pupil due to disease, trauma or drugs.

Various causes includes vision problem, Emotion, Drug overdose, Medication overdose, Certain medications, Certain eyedrop medications, Brain injury, Stroke, Brain tumor, Coma, Adie's syndrome - causing one pupil to react more slowly than the other, Blindness, Third nerve palsy, Eye nerve irritation etc.

Certain conditions like Botulism food poisoning, Morphine withdrawal, Serotonin Syndrome, Sturge-Weber Syndrome, Takayasu arteritis can also cause dilated pupil.
