Are you having any abdominal pain now, especially if you are pressing on the abdomen?

Any other symptoms besides the "pop"?

How about while twisting around the waist - do you have the same discomfort?

This certainly sounds as if it is a muscle strain in the muscles of the abdominal wall, since you can reproduce the discomfort by pressing and stretching (the twisting motion) these muscles.

You likely strained it while yelling, though the "pop" is a little mysterious, since these muscles shouldn't "rupture" with a simple yell. More likely, there was some stress on the ribs with the yell, which could theoretically "pop" (like cracking your knuckles).

Regardless, this discomfort may last for a few days, but with each day it should feel a little bit better. Of course, should you start to have other symptoms, such as nausea, vomiting, pain with breathing, etc, then having an exam by a doctor would be beneficial.
