You mention "feet" - are both his feet hurting or just the one that had the surgery?

And did these pains start immediately after the surgery, or are they more recent?

Reply to Dr. Mark's Post: the pain was just in the foot that had the surgery, but he began walking more on the other foot to get the weight off the surgical foot, so now they both hurt.

Given the fact that he is still having pain in the foot that the surgery was done six months ago, there is an issue that needs to be investigated by your orthopedic foot/ankle surgeon.

He/she should investigate this by doing a physical exam, ordering imaging like xrays or a MRI, and seeing if scar tissue from the surgery is pressing on a nerve in the area, or if there has been incomplete healing in the surgical area, or if there is a fracture or other non-surgically related causes for the pain.
