My husband feels like there is something in his throat. He

My husband feels like there is something in his throat. He has problems breathing and it feels dry. He is constantly clearing his throat it doesn''t help his problem but he continues to do it non stop. He has had a cat scan, chest exray, and went to the ear,nose and throat Dr. They have found nothing. Now he is being sent to have a swallowing test. Do you have any suggestions?

Was CT scan of paranasal sinus done?
Is the having cough?
Is there any burning sensation in stomach or heartburn?

No burning sensation in stomach, but after he eats, it seems to get worse.

Thanks for additional information. With CT- scan and chest X-Ray normal your doctor have ruled out sinus and chest infection which are common cause of these symptoms.

There is possibility of gastroesophageal reflux disease. It can cause chronic cough and can happen without burning sensation.

Doing a barium swallow is the right step as it will rule out any abnormality of pharynx , esophagus and also reflux disease.

Next step would be an endoscopy if there is nothing on barium study.
