Resolved Question:

I had 2 blood clots and DVT 6 months ago. I just came off of my blood thinners after a 6 month course. I have had 2 rounds of acutane in the past 4 years. It is the only things that keeps my skin clear. I would like to try another round but don''t know hte relationship of acutane and blood clots.

Accutane doesnot cause deep vein thrombosis. However, this medicine has other significant side-effects. Please use it only as per prescription.

Accutane has a doubtful action of decreasing anticoagulant action of blood thinners & dose modification may be needed for concomitant use.

Reply to DoogleNK's Post: Are bloods never one of the many side effects. I had the blood clot after I had been off Acutane for six months and had had no adverse side effects from my first 2 rounds.

Deep vein thrombosis is not a reported side-effect of accutane or its withdrawal.
Accutane does have other blood side-effects like decreased platelet count, anemia.
