Resolved Question:

5 years ago, i had a work accident in which my left leg was cut to the afemmeral(?) artery. because of some major medical foul ups it was never treated right and i went septic, had 2 debrisments, and because of over use of improper antibiotics i got MRSA. ever since then my immune system went heywire.. i have colitis, severe back problems, and am now on my second turn with c-diff. after the first bout it seems i go from having a 50-75k white blood count. when treated with antibiotics i get either c-diff or my colitis acts up. I have spent almost 2 years now with severe diareah or vomiting.. my pain management doctor wont treat my back anymore until this is resolved. so on top of this im dealing with pain constantly..which has led to me to be severly 44 and if someone cant help me soon. i cant see making it much longer..i also do not heal anymore..even the simplest cut takes at least 6 months to heal..i get constant boils under my arms too.

Hi Daisy,

It sound like you are very frustrated and very uncomfortable. I see you have seen many specialists but I thought I might mention another option. I feel naturopathic medicine might offer you help with your chronic conditions. Naturopaths work a great deal with patients with gastrointestinal issues and immune compromised patients. We have many therapies to treat intestinal dysbiosis like the cultures you take daily as well as healing herbs and supplements such as L-glutamine to repair the gut. We also have many treatments to increase the immune system. Unfortunately Naturopaths are not licensed in Wisconsin but as long as you have a diagnosis you may be treated by a Naturopath. Make sure you see a Naturopathic Physician that has graduated from a credentialed medical school, a four to five year medical program, NOT someone that has had on on line course or a certificate program. They will be able to provide adjunctive care and will be able to work with your current physicians and medications. I would suggest contacting or looking up the American Association Of Naturopathic Physicians at I feel naturopathic medicine could greatly improve your quality of life as we have many excellent treatments/therapies for chronic disease.

Thanks for the good question, I hope I gave you some more options
