I ate a very small end piece of garlic bread and afterwards noticed the entire loaf had small mold patches on it

There are nearly 6 billion people on the planet, and I would guess that each of these people has likely eaten at least one piece of bread which subsequently was discovered to have mold.

It is unlikely that a small amount of bread mold would do you any harm at all.
