I was face down on the sidewalkand wondering how I go there. I must have put my hands out because the palms are bruised

This is what is called a syncopal episode. There are many possible causes for this. They include a TIA or stroke, an irregular heartbeat and a sudden blood loss (among others). In the absence of a known cause this event indicates a need for an immediate trip to the Emergency Department.
