what is up with this.   I am 46 year old woman. My periods have been fairly normal. This last time, I began having cramps Nov. 28, began spotting Nov 29, got my period Dec. 5-8th. Now I'm spotting again (Dec. 12th). Do I see my doctor? what is going on?

Normally I spot from 0 to 4 days, my period normally lasts 2 to 3 days. This last time I spotted for 6 days, had period for 3 days, 4 days off, now I'm spotting.   HELP!!

Uterine bleeding at irregular intervals, particularly between the expected menstrual periods. is called Metrorrhagia in medical language .It can be due to variety of causes like hormonal imbalance , endometriosis, DUB , uterine fibroids, Polyp ,malignancy ,to name a few .In my opinion you need a Pelvic examination to assess the condition of the cervix and investigations like TVS Ultrasound for further evaluation .
