Customer Question

I have noticed my elderly grandmother has blue feet when she sits which return to normal color upon walking-what can this mean?

It is most likely that your grandmother is experiencing "pooling" of blood in her feet which is causing the blue color. This may mean that she has damage in her veins which bring blood back to her heart or that she has a possible heart problem. When she gets up to walk the pumping action that occurs when walking will help that blood return to her heart and circulate easier. If she will put her feet up when she sits down, perhaps on a stool or ottoman her feet should not get as blue.
