The doctor got the results of my blood test and said I needed to get another potassium level was too high and I needed to have another blood test to have my potassium checked within 48 hrs.

High potassium level can be due to crushed tissue from an injury, kidney failure, red blood cell destruction, metabolic or respiratory acidosis, and rarely Addison's disease. Further tesing by your doctor should be done to determine what the exact cause may be.
