No, diabetes will not cause a positive drug screen for methamphetamine or methadone.

If I was not using meth I would insist on a repeat drug screen that is CONFIRMED positive since preliminary screenings are known to have many false positives. Make sure you see that chain of custody is maintained. That means your specimen is not out of your sight until it is sealed and you have initialled it.

I hope this helps you in some way.

I searched various sources but could not find any instance of false positive drug reaction for Methadone due to consumption of metformin.
I still belive that it may have been any prescription Pain-killer or Cough syrup that you may have consumed that may have lead to thepositive test. Other than that I am unable to offer any leads,
for some drug interactions with metformin please read this article

First of all, according to this web site, diabetes can cause a false positive for methamphetamines:

Amphetamines - Substances or Conditions which can cause false positives

  • Ephedrine, pseudoephedrine, propylephedrine, phenylephrine, or desoxyephedrine

    • (Nyquil, Contact, Sudafed, Allerest, Tavist-D, Dimetapp, etc)

  • Phenegan-D, Robitussin Cold and Flu, Vicks Nyquil
  • Over-the-counter diet aids with phenylpropanolamine

    • (Dexatrim, Accutrim)

  • Over-the-counter nasal sprays

    • (Vicks inhaler, Afrin)

  • Asthma medications

    • (Marax, Bronkaid tablets, Primatine Tablets)

  • Prescription medications
  • (Amfepramone, Cathne, Etafediabe, Morazone, phendimetrazine, phenmetrazine, benzphetamine, fenfluramine, dexfenfluramine, dexdenfluramine,Redux, mephentermine, Mesocarb, methoxyphenamine, phentermine, amineptine, Pholedrine, hydroymethamphetamine, Dexedrine, amifepramone, clobenzorex, fenproyorex, mefenorex, fenelylline, Didrex, dextroamphetamine, methphenidate, Ritalin, pemoline, Cylert, selegiline, Deprenyl, Eldepryl, Famprofazone)
  • Kidney infection
  • kidney disease
  • Liver disease
  • diabetes

Although I find this information on several web sites, I cannot find the reason why this can happen.

I'm sorry.

I apologize for searching Methadone when you meant Methamphetamine
I have also searched from the perspective of false positive tests caused by Glucophage (Metformin) and I could not find any information other than
which I have already provided to you.
Hence I would assume that the reason for your False positive test could be the fact that you have Diabetes (rather than any medication that you may be taking)
