I updated my Garmin Nuvi 1490. It now says "No map data

I updated my Garmin Nuvi 1490. It now says "No map data available". How do I fix this problem?
JA: What is the exact model of your Garmin? And can you guesstimate how old it is?
Customer: Model # is Nuvi 1490T. It is approximately 4 years old.
JA: What happened right before this popped up?
Customer: The unit was updated.
JA: What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: Basically none. I have only tried to use it.
JA: Is there anything else the GPS Technician should be aware of?
Customer: Not to my knowledge

This is usually an issue with the Firmware, so I would first like you to do this please.

Remove the charger from the Nuvi and hold the power button to off for 60 seconds.

Release, then connect the charger and try to turn on the Nuvi and use it.
