Old Garmin nuvi; Batteries prob . dead-- How do I restore and opencase
JA: What is the exact model of your Garmin? And can you guesstimate how old it is?
Customer: #nuvi 1300-At least 10 yrs old; waitng to buy a new car in a few months; like to restore this for now. OK
JA: What happened right before this popped up?
Customer: Was not using for a while ; assume batteries died. How can I open and replace?
JA: What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: Did this with a tech from you 6 years ago- can we do the same now?
JA: Is there anything else the GPS Technician should be aware of?
Customer: Not that I know of.

If you connect the charger, does the Nuvi then turn on?

Remove the charger from the Nuvi and hold the power button to off for 60 seconds.

Release, then connect the charger and try to turn on the unit and use it.
