My unit will not take a full charge even though I leave it

Customer Question

My unit will not take a full charge even though I leave it charged overnight before we play the next day. On about the 16th/17th hole that day I start getting the message on low battery. Worked great the first year I had it. (last year) but just won't take a charge. Suggestions
JA: Just to clarify, what's the exact make and model of your machine?
Customer: The model is VS-4. It comes with a belt clip.
JA: What happened right before this popped up?
Customer: It had been sitting for several months as we don't play during Jan/Feb
JA: What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: None really other than putting it on the charger overnight before I go play. There were not trouble shooting directions that came with it.
JA: Is there anything else important you think the GPS Technician should know?
Customer: Other than being outside on the golf course, the unit sits in my nightstand.

This is usually an issue with the Firmware, so I would first like you to do this please.

Remove the charger from the VS-4 and hold the power button to off for 35 seconds.

Release, then connect the charger and try to turn on the unit and use it.

Let me know the results please

Thank you
