Customer Question

I own a nuvi 2557LMT, ser. no.###-##-#### Recently when I unlock unit, it shows low battery and powers off almost immediately. Does this mean the internal battery is in need of replacement?
JA: What model of Nuvi are you using? And can you guesstimate how old it is?
Customer: Model is 2557LMT a few years ago...... would have to check my files for exact date it is registered with you.
JA: What happened right before this popped up?
Customer: Don't follow you ???
JA: What confuses you?
Customer: UR message "What happened right before this popped up?"
JA: What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: Not much to troubleshoot. Just note on unplugging unit when in veh. get Low battery alert and it goes off. Also when I try to use it not plugged into power does the same, instantly. Use to have enough power to run for while to load addresses, do checks, etc.
JA: Is there anything else the GPS Technician should be aware of?
Customer: NO

Hi there and welcome

This can be an issue with the Firmware, so I would first like you to do this please.

Remove the charger from the Nuvi and hold the power button to off for 60 seconds.

Release, then connect the charger and try to turn on the unit and use it.

Let me know the results please

Thank you
