I have a Edge 500. When I turned it off this morning it

I have a Edge 500. When I turned it off this morning it became stuck on the off symbol.
JA: What's the make/model of your GPS unit? How old is it?
Customer: A bike computer. Edge 500. Purchased in Feb of 2016.
JA: What happened right before this popped up?
Customer: Nothing I was just turning it off.
JA: What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: Was not sure what to do. Called Performance where I purchased and suggested the Web site.
JA: Anything else you want the GPS expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: I think that covers it. The bike computer seems to be stuck in a loop. And has been for over an hour. Thanks

Sorry I didn't see your question earlier and to hear of any issue you are having with your device.

To help you with this issue, may I ask:

1) Is the device connected to ANY power source right now, such as a charger or USB port of a computer?

2) Have you tried disconnecting any power source connected and pushing and HOLDING the POWER button - to see if the screen turns OFF? If not, please try that now and let me know what happens.
