i have a garmin 400/500 series and i am intending to sell my boat with the gps, how can i retrieve my coordinates from the unit to a micro disc?
JA: What is the exact model of your Garmin? And can you guesstimate how old it is?
Customer: i have had the boat about three years now and the gps was aboard when purchased.
JA: What happened right before this popped up?
Customer: what do you mean?
JA: What confuses you?
Customer: i have no idea how to retrieve my waypoints before selling my boat

Hello! Thank you for contacting; I am Russell H., an Expert here at, and I will do what I can to answer your question as well as it can be answered.

It is recommended that you use only sizes of memory card from 2 GB to 8 GB - other sizes tend to have problems.

Insert the memory card into the Garmin device, then on the Garmin device:

From the Home screen, select

> Information

> User data

> Data Transfer

> Save To Card.

3. Select


to create a new file. Enter the file name using the Rocker, and select


4. Select


to save waypoints to the card. The file name will be the .ADM type.
