JA: What is the exact model of your Garmin? And can you guesstimate how old it is?
Customer: 010-01188-02, 1 year, only used 10 times
JA: What happened right before this popped up?
Customer: It was working properly. Sometimes this pops up every few minutes, sometimes every second
JA: What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: Connecting to computer and downloading latest updates, turning off and on, checking cable is correct
JA: Anything else you want the GPS expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: I haven't tried a factory re set

Hi, thank you for contacting My name is Russell. I will do my best to provide the right answer to your question.

I suspect that the power cable may be going bad. Has it been coiled up between uses?

Customer: replied 8 months ago.
No, could ibe a faulty port on back?
Expert:  Russell H. replied 8 months ago.

That could be it, yes, esp. if it looks at all strained, damaged, stressed, cracked, or even dirty (to obviate that, try scrubbing the port out with a clean, dry used toothbrush.)
