When I downloaded the latest updates, my GPS didn't have

When I downloaded the latest updates, my GPS didn't have space enough. I tried to format my GPS & erase everything on it. Now when I plug my GPS to my computer all I get is a picture of a computer, USB cord & the GPS & I can't get anything to happen.
JA: Just to clarify, what's the brand and model of the GPS?
Customer: It is a Magellan 5220-LM
JA: What happened right before this popped up?
Customer: Nothing was happening.
JA: What troubleshooting have you tried?

Did you make a backup of the files on the GPS before you formatted it and erased everything?

If so, you may be able to restore those files onto the device.

If you don't have a backup to recover from then the device will need to be returned to Magellan to have the software reinstalled on it to restore it to working order again.
