im trying to do some up[dates or see if there are anu and while my computer recognizes that the device is plugged in, SmartGPSeco does not
JA: What's the make/model of your GPS unit? How old is it?
Customer: magellan Roadmate
JA: What happened right before this popped up?
Customer: orginally i had a blue screen on the device and then there was an icon asking me to plug it into the computer.
JA: What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: I thought maybe the battery was just deplete
JA: Anything else you want the gps expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: I thought maybe the battery was depleted so it has been pugged in all day but no change

Can you please connect the device to a different USB port on the computer and tell me if the software then detects it?

Remove the cable from the unit and hold the power button to off for 35 seconds.

Release, then connect the charger and turn on the Roadmate and connect it
