Welcome to, my name is Dustin.
I'm sorry to hear about the issue you are having, I will do my best to help you resolve it.

Expert:  Dustin replied 8 months ago.

How long has it been stuck at 50% ?

To get started, I need to know what type of computer you are using, a Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10 or a Mac.

If its a Mac, please check the OSX version as follows, Click the apple sign at the top left of your screen, then click about this mac. And then where it says version, send that to me as a reply.

Also, what type of internet do you have, Sattelite, Cable, Mobile hotspot, Wifi?

Customer: replied 8 months ago.
I have Windows Vista & my internet is Cable.
Expert:  Dustin replied 8 months ago.

Understood.. With cable internet you shouldnt have hit a slowdown that would have caused the map download to freeze.

So , while we run the risk of having to format the garmin.. The only way to get this going is to disconnect the garmin. Then for good measure, reset it

Heres how to reset it

Then, lets try using the webupdater software to update your map, rather then garmin express

Its simpler, and usually more reliable.

If you get stuck at any point or have any questions, dont hesitate to respond. And when youve had a chance to try this let me know if it works out for you, or if you need further assistance.

I strive to provide great service, and greatly appreciate a 5 star rating clicked and submitted when you are satisfied.. I always answer follow up questions.
