Hi, thank you for contacting My name is Russell. I will do my best to provide the right answer to your question.

Has Garmin Express ever 'found' this particular Nuvi GPS, since it was first bought?

If not, then consider whether you have tried all USB ports available on your computer, to connect the Nuvi device to ?

Customer: replied 10 months ago.
No it has not found this device, but I had a different GPS and it recognized that one
Customer: replied 10 months ago.
I have tried all ports, it shows on the gps screen that I am plugged into

OK. ( A reply of mine got lost somehow... let me type it in again...)

Then I suggest that, if you have gotten rid of the different GPS, that you

1. disconnect the new Nuvi

2. close the Garmin Express program window

3. uninstall Garmin Express from your computer

4. restart your computer

5. reinstall Garmin Express by download from this site:

and see whether that frees up the program to work with the new Nuvi device.

You may return here

to let me know how that turns out.

thank you very much, I will uninstall and download again.

Let me know, if it works, please. That way I can close this case.

If it doesn't work, I'll offer further advice.
