I have a 1490 that will not power up and I have had it on charge at least 24hr any suggestions
JA: What's the make/model of your GPS unit? How old is it?
Customer: NUVI 1490 and about 6 years old
JA: What happened right before this popped up?
Customer: Its has not been in use for sometime
JA: What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: Tried to charge have no indication it charged
JA: Anything else you want the GPS expert to know before I connect you?

If it is about 6 years old, then it almost certainly has suffered internal battery failure.

Rechargeable batteries of all types and technologies used in portable electronic devices nowadays, all fail to hold charge, or fail to deliver enough power, by and by... usually after 1 1/2 years, rarely sooner. 6 years is a reasonable time.

Would you want to try to replace the battery yourself?

OK, then. At 6 years old, there is no chance of voiding the warranty by opening the case.

You will need to open the case, and remove the battery without harming anything, then replace it with a new one:
