Customer Question

I have a Garmin golf watch for just over a year. It is # 30Y1348912.
I tried to use it yesterday in a golf tournament and it NEVER found a satellite signal. Was in an open area and it tried for three hours! What is going on??

Some these have an issue that develops after some time. It is a problem with the GPS receiver in the Garmin watch.

You can try removing the battery for 30 full minutes and see if that cures the issue, sometimes they just hang up in the midst of the program.

Please try that and let me knwo if that solves your problem usually it wll;-)

In any case, I will stick with you until this is complete.

Please rate my service kindly.

Also it is the only way I am credited for my time and expertise with you.

Once you rate, I will be notified and will add your question to my priority list so you can reach me anytime until this problem is solved.

Then you can reach me by simply replying to this message anytime.

Hi, sorry what model Garmin watch do you have?

You sent a # but that one corresponds to a different one then.

I need the model and you can also send me a pic of it on here if you know how to do that.

Hello & Welcome,

Different expert here.

Sorry I didn't see your question earlier.

It looks like the serial number you sent for this watch may have a missing or extra character in it, so I can't identify what model it is.

Most Garmin Golf watches are "Approach Sx" - where x is a number between 1 & 6.

So if you can double-check that serial number or find what model it is, that would help identify the watch.

Also, when you put the watch into Golf mode (start a round), did you SEE the watch actually stuck on SEARCHING for the satellites, or something else - like it saying "no courses nearby"?

Thanks, ***** *****
