Where can I take my Garmin to be updated? I tried to download the software but my Mac is an older version.
JA: What is the exact model of your Garmin? And can you guesstimate how old it is?
Customer: Garmin nuvi
JA: What happened right before this popped up?
Customer: 10R-023994- probably about 8 years
JA: What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: I haven't tried anything and I use it everyday
JA: Anything else you want the GPS expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: Is there any other info needed for this model? There is an IC number and FCC ID

Sorry to hear of any issue you are having with your device.

To help you with this issue, may I ask:

1) The FULL Name & Model Number of the device you are working with? I only ask because the numbers you sent look like a "case" part number.

You should be able to find a Serial Number - printed right next to a bar code - and can send that to me too.

Also, depending on the device type, there may be a flip-up part, and the model and serial number sticker will be under that part.

OK - may I ask:

1) What program did you try to download and use and do you have a different computer available (or a friend with one) that could be used?

2) Do you have a USB cable for connecting the device to the computer?

3) Does the device still operate "well", and has decent battery life?
