Hi Brad

You will need to verify the correct output format is set up in the GPS receiver;

also check the GPS connections to ensure they are secure and the wiring is undamaged.

Hello Pete,it was working when i flew in the plane prior to buying. showed taxi info and all. now the msg light comes on in the gps smart buttons and on the annunciator panel for the gx50 cant seem to clear it either. it says "when the HDOP for the gps sensor exceeds current flight phase HDOP requirements, a warning is generated and the current nav data is invalid."
is this why it is not working? nothing has been altered since we took possession of the aircraft. Weird....

Hi Brad,

Yes, that is the likely cause - it is due to a GPS HDOP Positional Error.

If you acknowledge the alert it should go away.

If you keep getting this error then check the connections on the rear of the unit - if they have become loose and the GPS info is being interrupted, it can lead to this error.

Weird how it worked fine one day then not.
Expert:  Pete replied 1 year ago.

If it becomes intermittent then it is more likely due to a connection that has worked its way loose.

Do you know how to clear it? Cany seem to find it in the manual
Expert:  Pete replied 1 year ago.

If you click on the message to view it, it should then become "old".

It did. No comm. Still. Took out of hangar for signal. Has data base intact so just dont understand it.
Expert:  Pete replied 1 year ago.

Does this only happen on the ground, or mid-flight, or on approach?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
All phases it appears. Ground is all i can test now. But in training it was same and annunciation says bo traffic available. It has mode s for traffic pushed to mx20
