Thanks, ***** ***** need to reset the Nuvi, thiss removes all information and then returns it to new.To do this, first power it off.Put your finger in the upper right corner of the screen and keep it there as you power on the unit. You will be asked to clear all user data if you select Yes it clears everythingOnce done, set it up and tell me how it now functions please.

problem is about the same some letters are jumping 3 pos.
Expert:  Richard replied 1 year ago.
Thanks It is the digitizer that registers the location of a press that has faulted. A corrupted firmware can cause this. But we have ruled this out by reinstalling it. I am really sorry about this and you are going to have to return the unit to have it replaced. It will be covered by the warranty if this has not expired, and the replacement will be done at no cost to you. I am really sorry about this, and if you have problems, or would like any additional information or assistance, please do not hesitate to let me know. And if you can take a second to rate my service by clicking one of the stars at the top of the page, then submit, that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

ok, if you do not wish to pay for the service I provided you, bearing in mind I can only go through the issues, eliminate them and then confirm the issue if the problem persists, then you will need to contact customer service for a refund.

Hi George, Different expert here. Would you like to TRY a "touch screen calibration" - to see if we can "fix" this issue, as least on a temporary basis? If so, I have that process listed below.===========================1) Power the device ON and let it settle on the MAIN screen (Where To & View Map icons will be showing).2) Touch Settings (wrench icon).3) Touch Display4) Touch Recalibrate5) A new screen will appear saying "Press Dot".6) As best you can, touch the VERY CENTER of each dot as it appears. NOTES:- Speed is NOT IMPORTANT in touching the dots, but ACCURACY IS.- The dots WILL move around the screen.- Using a "Stylus" or other pointed plastic object can be more precise than using a finger.7) When "Calibration Complete" appears, touch the OK button.===================Once that is done, go back to the other "keyboard screens" and TEST to see if touching the letters is now more accurate. NOTE: If you continue to have issues, this may be a sign of a failing touch screen. These devices have been know to have failing screens - as they age. If you need to have the screen replaced, just let me know and I can give you a couple of references (3rd party) where the screen can be replaces at the lowest cost. Please let me know what happens or if you have any more questions. Thanks, ***** *****(im)
