My Garmin golf watch/distance device tells time but after

my Garmin golf watch/distance device tells time but after only using it a month last summer and a month and a half this summer, the golfing part doesn't work. When I am on a golf course it says no golf courses near and fails to connect to satellite to help me judge distance to pins. Very frustrating to pay so much and get so little use. I can only charge it on my computer since I have no plug in device to wall outlets that works with it.

Hello & Welcome to Just Answer,
Sorry to hear of the issue you are having with your device.
Just as a note, I looked up that serial number and found that matches for an "Approach S2" model GPS Golf watch.
So let's see if we can get your watch going again.
The FIRST thing I would do is a couple of RESETS for the device, using the instructions below.
Then AFTER the resets, take the watch OUTSIDE, to a CLEAR area (where the sky and satellites can be "seen") and turn the watch ON in golf mode and WAIT (leave it in a stationary position) so that the watch can find a lock on the satellites.
Here are the RESETS I mentioned, and the SOFT reset should be done FIRST, leave the device ON and OUTSIDE, to see if that gets it going again.
If it does not, try the MASTER reset, and leave it outside again.
To Soft Reset the Approach:
- Press and hold Light/Power
- Wait until screen goes blank (approximately 10 seconds)
- Release Light/Power
- Press and hold Light/Power
- When the device powers on, release Light/Power
The Approach will now restart.
To Master Reset the Approach (S1 & S2):
- Power the Approach off (Press and hold LIGHT/POWER button until device powers off)
- Press and hold DOWN
- Release DOWN and LIGHT/POWER when screen displays Clear user data?
- Select Yes
The device should now be reset to default factory settings, and the device should function as expected
If the device is still unresponsive, you will want to download & install the "Garmin Express" program on your computer, run the program, connect your device via the USB data/charge cable to add the device, and then run and "Update" on the device. This should reload any control software or courses that need to be updated.

Then take the device OUTSIDE again, and see if the device finds and LOCKS on the satellite signals, and displays courses that are near your area.
NOTE: When you leave the device outside, it can take 15-20 minutes (or more) for the device to find and lock on the satellite signal. So please allow AT LEAST that much time after any reset or software update.
