My golf course GPS will not pick up satellites but the rest

My golf course GPS will not pick up satellites but the rest of the functions are OK. Can I reset it through the computer? The numbers on the back are can310 and 2l4101910

Hello & Welcome to Just Answer,
Sorry to hear of the issue you are having with your GPS.
Can you tell me the MODEL and TYPE of your device?
For example, MOST Garmin Golf devices are either handheld (MODELS G2, G3, etc.) - OR - "Watch" type (MODELS S1, S3, etc.)?
May I also ask the LAST TIME the device DID find the satellites and WHERE it was at the time? Was that a LONG DISTANCE away from its current location?

Hi again,
I didn't see a response back from my first note, but I wanted to send the following before I take an afternoon break.
I believe you MAY have one of the "watch" type units - and perhaps an Approach S3 or S4, so the following is how to do a "Soft Reset" & "Master Reset" of the device.
For EACH of these resets, you should attempt the reset process, then take the device OUTSIDE and put it in an area with a CLEAR VIEW of the sky - in a STATIONARY position - and and leave it there once powered up and "looking for" the satellite signal. You should wait AT LEAST 20 minutes for the signals to be found and locked onto after either of these resets.
The soft reset is less severe, and should be tried FIRST, because the Master Reset will clear out any data that you may have stored in the device.

To Soft Reset the Approach:
=======================
- Press and hold Light/Power
- Wait until screen goes blank (approximately 10 seconds)
- Release Light/Power
- Press and hold Light/Power
- When the device powers on, release Light/Power
The Approach will now restart. If the device is still unresponsive, connect the watch to the computer and then follow the above steps again.

To Master Reset the Approach (S3 & S4):

- Power off device
- Press and HOLD Score (do not release)
- Press the Power button
- Select Yes when prompted "Clear user data?" (all buttons may be released at this time)
The device should now be reset to default factory settings, and the device should function as expected

Again, you will want to take the device to a CLEAR area and let it try to find the satellites for AT LEAST 20 minutes.
