How long does it take to quit?

Do have a rear unit with head set?

Customer: replied 3 months ago.
It been out for 3 days straight
Customer: replied 3 months ago.
It has a rear unit we don't have headphones
Expert:  GM Bob replied 3 months ago.

This how the turn signal works.

The IPC cluster sends a serial data message to the radio in order to activate the audible warning.

Did this problem start happening after the radio was reprogrammed in 08/04/2016 at 21,221 miles

If the dealer could have it with it inop. I would think they could find the problem.

Does it start to work after you shut the car off than restart it?

The only thing left is the radio.

Customer: replied 3 months ago.
We bought it from dealer at 12,000 miles.
It just happens randomly -you can be driving down the highway and it just randomly quits .
Then 2 days later you will be driving and it will come back on and then off again.
Restarting doesn't correct it .
Expert:  GM Bob replied 3 months ago.

Have you tried to tap on and around the radio to see if that changes anything?

Customer: replied 3 months ago.
Haven't tried that !
Expert:  GM Bob replied 3 months ago.

Let me know if it makes it work.

Expert:  GM Bob replied 3 months ago.

Have you taken it back to the dealer?

Customer: replied 3 months ago.
Not sure what to do -
I have taken it back 3-4 x and it keeps happening
Expert:  GM Bob replied 3 months ago.
You could try another GMC dealer.
Or a GM dealership

This is in your owner manual

STEP ONE

Discuss your concern with a member of dealer management. Normally, concerns can be quickly resolved at that level. If the matter has already been reviewed with the sales, service, or parts manager, contact the owner of the dealer facility or the general manager.

STEP TWO

If after contacting a member of dealer management, it appears your concern cannot be resolved by the dealer without further help contact the Chevrolet Customer Assistance Center by calling 1-***-***-****. In Canada, contact GM of Canada Central Office by calling 1-***-***-****: English, or 1-***-***-****: French.

We encourage you to call the toll-free number in order to give your inquiry prompt attention. Have the following information available to give the Customer Assistance Representative:

  • The Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). This is available from the vehicle registration or title, or the plate above the top of the instrument panel on the driver side, and visible through the windshield.
  • The dealer name and location
  • The vehicle delivery date and present mileage

When contacting Chevrolet, remember that your concern will likely be resolved at a dealer's facility. That is why we suggest you follow Step One first if you have a concern
