air bag light, and doesn't move in reverse
JA: Is anything interfering with the seatbelt latch?
Customer: no sure, i haven't looked at that
JA: What is the model/year of your GM?
Customer: 2005 envoy
JA: Are you fixing your Envoy yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: I haven't tried anything, I'de like to try if it doesn't need a rebuild
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?

These are separate problems. You need a scan tool to get the codes from the air bag module. This is the first step to diagnose the air bag light.

For the reverse problem, I would check the fluid level and smell if it is burnt. Your reverse band could be broken as well. Could be a valve body problem. This also needs a scan for codes and the trans pan needs to be removed to see if there is any metal debris in the bottom of it.
