no spark or fuel no voltage to pink wire at distributor 2000 yukon denali 5.7
JA: Has the vehicle turned into a gas hog? And how does it start -- same as usual?
Customer: no not at all 19 mpg but before it went down it would run like shit when it was warm you had to throw it in low and clean it out it started doing the start kill imeadly start kill start kill let it set run fine
JA: What is the model of your '00 GM?
Customer: yukon denali
JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: it kept on coming up with a crank sensor code replaced it never sparked agin
JA: Anything else you think the mechanic should know?
Customer: i replaced the tumbler and when i unhooked the littel wire that plugs in at the top of the lock housing the clicker never worked agin the door lock dobber

Have you checked the ecm 1 fuse?

no but it hasnt done nothing sinxe i replaed the crank sensor

Do you have 12 volts on the pink wire now?

no i think the ignition swith is bad

Can you see if you have 12 volts on either side of the fuse with the fuse still in the fuse box? You can check it through the little metal pieces sticking up through the top of the fuse.

i checked i think it was blown through testing because the code reader wont work if it is blown and it comes up with crank sensor code

Did you check it with a digital volt meter? This is very important, I need you to do all the tests I ask for if you want to me be able to help you fix this.

been serving furnaces for 30 years digital doesnt always give you the right voltage i no to check the voltage off the crank sensor should be tested by digtal but the voltage to the distributor should be constant from the switch corect

i smelled somthing electrical burn and security light on the dash came about 3 thlo before it sr
tarted failing when i switchied the crank sensor the sensor shoted si
omthing out i changed the coil and
it almost started then failed

For me to be able to pin down the problem I have to have data. Guessing will only cost you time and money. That is why I need you to check the voltage at the fuse on both sides of the fuse please.

I suspect the engine controller may have failed or is missing power or ground.

Does the engine light do a bulb check when the key is turned on?

Does the fuel pump run briefly when the key is turned on?
