2002 GMC Yukon, SLE, 2 wheel drive. ABS activates at slow

Customer Question

2002 GMC Yukon, SLE,***** ABS activates at slow speeds while making a stop, never in a turn. No traction or ABS light illuminates. All while driving on dry roads. Wheel speed sensors cleaned @ GM dealership. Still acting up. Do I need a new wheel hub or two?

Hi im kevin this is normally an indication that the car is confused as to actual wheel speed .normally there is a slight difference in speed between one side of car to the other when braking .this 9/10 is caused by a brojen or damaged relucter ring rather than speed sensor .basically the reluctor ring is the part the speed sensor reads from and these can break giving a poor reading in one point .at speed making no difference but at low speed braking tends to show up
