Customer Question

I have a 2000 GMC Jimmy 4x4 4.3 that has a crank but no spark issue.
It has a new coil, new icm, new crank shaft sensor.
All the fuses are good.
It does get fuel at the valve on the fuel rail.
I did check the pink wire at the coil with a test light and it is hot and stays hot while cranking, and has 12 volts when key on and 10.9 while cranking.
I also have an otc scanner and when I pull up the mil codes it gives me p0604a control module ram malfunction. It will not let me erase that code. However if I go to current codes it says passed no current codes.
I tried to go to the data stream and it will not let me it says "no vehicle manufacturer supplied data items" I have never encountered that issue would this suggest a bad computer?
Where would you suggest I start?

This is a very simple flow chart. If you have that code, replace the VCM.

Replace the VCM even if this DTC exists only in history.

VCM must be programmed when it's installed, typically your dealer must do this, but there are various companies that will sell you a preprogrammed VCM (ECM, PCM, these terms are synonymous).
