GMC 1500 Series: My 2011 GMC Seirra keeps having check engine

Customer Question

My 2011 GMC Seirra keeps having check engine light. I recently had dealer work done and the oil deflector was replaced and now the problem is back. What could be causing this problem?

Hello and welcome! Thank you for requesting me! Can I start by getting your VIN and the code number in the computer?

I DO NOT HAVE A CODE NUMBER. HOW DO I GET THAT?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
ONSTAR DIAGNOSITCS SAID IT IS AN ENGINE MISS
Expert:  Amedee replied 2 years ago.
Thank you for that information and sorry for the delay! The most common cause of a misfire condition would be bad tune up parts, lifters/valves or carboned build up. Fix this misfire condition and this will fix the check engine light.

The problem is the dealer just fixed it 10000 miles ago and now it is back
Expert:  Amedee replied 2 years ago.
If it is the same code, then they did not fix it correctly. It needs to gon back and they need to diagnose it correctly
