I have a 2002 GMC...
I have a 2002 GMC Sonoma. It feels like the parking brakes are dragging. I am only able to push the parking brake pedal down about 1/2", not even to the first click. The PB pedal does release when I pull the release lever.

I am sorry for the delay in getting a response to you. Sometimes we get alot of customers and just can not keep up. Sometimes you just have to wait for the correct tech to login.Do you even still need help. Sometimes customers seek help elsewhere or figure it out on their own before we get to each and everyone.I am sure I can help a lot or a little at least something if you give me a chance and work with me. Chris, this is not helpful. I posed my question yesterday, and today I receive your response that you won't be able to help me until at least 3 PM central and likely later. Meanwhile, I am hesitate to use my truck because of the brake dragging. I have used Just Answer in the past and received prompt, excellent help. Can you get the rear wheels off the ground, and roll the rear wheels to see if the parking brake is applied dragging the brakes. If so then disconnect the cable and retry, this will tell us if the concern is the cable stuck, rear brakes or the parking brake control to blame. You want a excellent 5 star answer & I would like to be rated the same for providing it. Consider I don't know your skill level & I can't see, smell, hear, or touch the vehicle. It may take a few back and forth replies. Try your best to respond with good detail so I can do the same. I normally log in at 3pm and work late. A rating is required. Your rating me, what I type.
