Do you have a test light you can use to do some electrical testing?

do I get questions until fixed?
Customer reply replied 4 months ago
respond

Sure, I'll stick with you.

Do the lights light up at all when you turn the signal on? Do they light up but not flash, or don't light up at all? If you have the brake applied and turn on the left turn signal, does the left brake light go out or stay on?

Ask Your Own GM Question

Have some patience, though. This is a time consuming process on my end, as I'm looking at schematics for you as well as helping other people with their problems, but I'll stick with you until we get to a resolution. It just may take me a bit of time to come back to you with each response.

no indicator on dash -- brake on --light goes out
Customer reply replied 4 months ago
can you send me a schematic? please stop asking to call

That is an automated response asking you to call, it's not me. Just disregard it.

I'm attaching a schematic for you. Let me know if you have questions on it.

you should have given me the next step or test

I still can and will, I wanted to give you what you asked for first. Do you have power on the purple wire that leads into the turn signal switch?

Ask Your Own GM Question
Customer reply replied 4 months ago
negative there are 2 pin 3 and 9 at c211 neither
Customer reply replied 4 months ago
conn c200 I think

OK, is there power at the turn/bu fuse? I know you replaced the fuse..... we need to see if there is actually power there. Test this with the key ON, I should have told you that on the last test as well, make sure you're doing these tests with key ON.

Ask Your Own GM Question
Customer reply replied 4 months ago
key on --- yes power at fuse -- did not replace --- I have power at flasher terminal with key on and it's hard to follow connector numbers without connector id -- I must be losing power between flasher at center of dash and large connector at base of column -- I have purple wires at # 3 and # 9 of the same connector
Customer reply replied 4 months ago
flasher is ok or I can just jumper terminals at flasher socket

If you jumper the terminals, do you then have power at the purple wire at pin 9?

Ask Your Own GM Question
Customer reply replied 4 months ago
very faint test light -- obviously has high resistance -- difficult to see harness behind dash --- next reccomendation?

You can find the source of this voltage drop by taking things apart, and as you note, it's not a fun job at all. Is there an aftermarket alarm, remote start, anything like that wired into this truck? If there is, I'd remove it, and repair the wiring.

If there are no aftermarket accessories wired in here, and if you don't really feel like taking the dash apart to find the voltage drop on this wire, you can just run a new circuit from flasher socket to pin 9 on C211, and bring the circuit back to life. You can even do this temporarily with a jumper wire, just to prove out the theory that it will work, before making it more permanent.
