93 GMC Vandura, shift lever detached from cable how does it

Customer Question

93 GMC Vandura, shift lever detached from cable how does it reattach?
JA: How old is the transmission? Have you noticed any leaking?
Customer: The problem is not the transmission the problem is in the dash area.
JA: What is the make/model of your car?
Customer: 1993 GMC Van
JA: Are you fixing your vehicle yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Yes I am doing the fixing because I can't move it. It seems like I might have to pull the dashboard apart to reach the problem. When I move the shift lever I can see a round knob at the end of a shaft move when I move the lever.
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: No. Where dose that round knob attach to?

Hello. My name is ***** ***** I will be helping you today.

There should be a socket on the end of the cable that just pushes on to that ball on the end of the lever.
