Customer Question

Hello, How do I remove the airbag from my 2015 Tahoe steering wheel?

these easy to remove and they are on self spring loaded clips that you just need to push in with the Allen T handle or something similar into the 2 holes as seen in the picture on each side and it will release the air bag

make sure you disconnect the trucks battery and wait 10 minutes to disarm the air bag system before it is removed

here is the procedure

Do I just need to punch the T-Bars through the thin skin covering what looks like detent on the sides of the steering wheel base?
Expert:  Gary replied 1 year ago.

yes into the 2 small holes like the picture on each side of the steering wheel

Ok, just confirming, as there are no actual holes on the wheel - just 2 detents covered with a thin rubberized membrane. I presume this membrane is a security tell-tale to show the whether the airbag has ever been removed.

more than likely thats what it is

but it is released through those 2 holes
