GM c1500: I have a 96 chevy c1500 pickup with a 5.0l

I have a 96 chevy c1500 pickup with a 5.0l manual tran and the problem im having is that anytime i start to push the clutch in or go to let the clutch out the starter engages. Any help would be great!

Hi Joe, it sounds like the ignition switch may be bad. Power goes from the ignition switch, to the clutch switch and the out to the starter relay. To test theis you'll need to unplug the electrical connecter at the switch above the clutch. Once it's unpplugged check for voltage on the Yellow wire with the key in the start and run position. Let me know what you find and we can work further.

will do when i get home from work. what voltage should it be give or take?
