Turn Signal Multifunction Switch Replacement
  1. Disable the SIR system.
  2. Remove the steering wheel. Remove the upper and lower trim covers. Refer Disconnect the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly connector.
    Object Number:(NNN) NNN-NNNN Size: SH

  3. Remove the 2 screws (1) from the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly (2).
  4. Remove the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly from the steering column tilt head assembly.

  1. Install the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly (2) to the steering column tilt head assembly.

    .

  2. Install the 2 screws (1) to the turn signal and multifunction assembly.

    Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 3 N·m (27 lb in).

  3. Connect the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly connector.
  4. Install the upper and lower trim covers. Install the steering wheel. Enable the SIR system. g. Steering Column Trim Cover Replacement
    1.  


      Object Number: 692091  Size: SH

    2. Disable the inflatable restraint steering wheel module. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Remove the steering wheel from the column. Remove the gap hider. .
    3. If tilt column, remove the tilt lever from the lower trim cover.

      Important: You must check for 2 pan head tapping screws (1,2) in the lower trim cover before removal.

    4. If necessary, remove the 2 pan head tapping screws (1,2) from the lower trim cover (3). Remove the lower trim cover (3).

      If screws are not present in the lower trim cover, proceed to the next step.

    5. Gently unsnap the lower trim cover from the upper trim cover.

      Important: You must check for 1 TORX® head screw (1) in the upper trim cover (2) before removal.

    6. If necessary, remove 1 TORX® head screw (1) from the upper trim cover (2).

      If a screw is not present, remove the upper trim cover (2).

  5. Steering Wheel Inflatable Restraint Module Replacement

       

    1. Disable the inflatable restraint steering wheel module. Object Number: 760459  Size: SH

    2. Using a blunt-ended tool, push the leaf spring fasteners (2) inward through the access holes. The access holes are located on both sides of the steering wheel shroud.

    3. Lift and partially remove the inflatable restraint steering wheel module from the steering wheel in order to expose the electrical connectors.
    4. Disconnect the connector-position assurance (CPA) retainers from the electrical connectors.
    5. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the inflatable restraint steering wheel module.

      Important: Do not attempt to repair the inflatable restraint steering wheel module. The inflatable restraint steering wheel module is replaced only as an assembly.

    6. Remove the inflatable restraint module from the steering wheel.
    7. Fully deploy the module before disposal. If the module was replaced under warranty, fully deploy and dispose of the module after the required retention period.
