What year and engine size do you have in the yukon?
Customer: replied 7 years ago.
01,5.3l

The P0405 is a EGR code. This code inductes that the EGR is not seated properly. This may be from the EGR being dirty or just a bad EGR. Its hard to diagnose without a scan tool, but you can remove the EGR valve and make sure the valve inside is not stuck or has carbon keeping the valve from closing. If all looks good, you may have to replace the EGR valve to fix this concern.

sorry i forgot about code p0404
Expert:  MPMoore replied 7 years ago.
The P0404 is also a EGR code. This code sets if the computer commands the EGR to open or close and the EGR does not respone properly. This can be caused by a stuck valve or the valve is bad. Again, you need to inspect the valve to make sure its free from carbon or any other thing that can keep it from closing.

If the codes are still setting, you may need a new egr valve.
