I am having repeated problems with my singer sewing machine bobbin....I can only sew for a few inches and the bobbin thread gets really tight

How to adjust the tension and what is the best number ot use

Just reduce it then try a scrap materials until you get the right stitches.

I tried reducing the number and that didn't work and then I tried increasing the number and that did not work either.

Oil it using sewing machine oil not all purpose oil or wd40.
