I just cleaned my machine underneath the needle plate and bobbin area now my machine is asking me to change my needle plate will not allow me to change stitching off a straight stitch?? It's a baby lock crescendo

Hi and welcome to Just answer.

Initially, turn off your machine, remove your needle plate and clean it using dry cloth, on your bobbin area use compressed air or compressor and blow that area. There is possible lint/debris that block the sensor.
