I have an Olympia CM812 Cash Register approximately 2 years

Customer Question

I have an Olympia CM812 Cash Register approximately 2 years old. We had a general power outage caused by a traffic accident and when the power came back on I had lost all the programming. When I used the programme key to re-enter details there was nothing. I have turned the machine off and replaced the batteries but when I turned it back on there was still nothing. Is there a service agent close to Maryborough Qld who I can contact to come and look at it.
Regards
Christine

This link should help you but you really should find a manual to get started like it was just out of the box.

The batteries are merely there to sustain the memory/programming for a short interruption of the power. They must be changed at least annually, while the register is "ON", (plugged into the power source).

One can purchase the manual if you need one.

Good Luck to you and thanks for contacting us.

When turning the programming key to the prog section nothing comes up. It is a black screen with nothing on it. I have tried starting from the bottom up using the help and #/NS keys but this does not work either.

Did you try these Initial Clear or the Ram Clear on the bottom of the page?

If you try these and you still have a bank display, you probably have a dead register, sorry to be the one to tell you about it.
