Hi and welcome to Just answer.

It sounds like you have to replace your bulb. This machine takes a bayonet style bulb, part number 2PCW is the generic one but you can pay more for a frosted one ($2-$4). To replace you need to remove the lamp cover. Depending on the age of your machine you may either need a phillips or #25 star (torx) driver. The screw is hard to find, it lift the handle up and look just to the rear of it on the left side, there should be a small square hole. The screw is under it. Alternately there is another, smaller hole just to the rear of the first one. You can take your seam guide (or a coat hanger) insert it and push down about 1", the lamp fixture is spring loaded and the end of the bulb will appear below while you push down. While holding down on the spring, push up on the bulb and turn to the left and it should pop out. (note some early models do not have the access hole to the screw, in this case you need to remove the top tray insert, 2 very small phillips screws, then you can see the lamp cover screw).

Hope this information will be helpful.
