Hi there. What are the cheapest (yet good) ESL (Englsih as a second Language) schools in New York?
Thanks

Hello, Alec and welcome back to Just Answer!

My name is XXXXX XXXXX it will be my pleasure to assist you today.

Are you referring to ESL schools in New York City (Manhattan), any of the other boroughs or some place else in NY?

Are you looking for a school that only teaches ESL or also other subjects for ESL learners?

Is this for an adult or child?

Thanks for all your additional detail.

Hi Cher!

It could be other boroughs too besides Manhattan. It could also for subjects related to ESL.

for an adult!

Hi again, Alec and thanks for your helpful reply.

Thanks : )

Hi again, Alec and you're most welcome!

It's my pleasure to be of help to you!

The New York City public libraries hold free classes for ESL:
http://www.nypl.org/events/classes/esol

Here are others:

http://www.newschool.edu/public-engagement/english-second-language-certificate/

http://www.newschool.edu/continuing-education/english-language-studies/

http://www.nylanguagecenter.com/

This course, offered by the City University of New York, is also free:

as are these:

It would also be a good idea to contact your local Community Schools or High Schools to see if they offer Continuing Education classes for adults in ESL/ESOL, as most do. However, this information might also be included on the site I sent above: http://schools.nyc.gov/ChoicesEnrollment/AdultEd/default.htm

Hi again, Alec.

Within my research, the same schools and programs that I found for you earlier, kept coming up, so I would suggest that as you contact each one, ask if they offer advanced conversational classes for someone like you, who is fluent in English, but would like more practice in speaking and minimizing your accent.

You certainly write English very well! : )

Since you found my answer helpful, a Positive rating and Positive feedback on the survey, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Laughing
